What does the car rental actually cover?

The rental includes delivery or collection of the hire vehicle, plus a daily mileage quota. This varies from provider to provider. Supercars are often limited to 250 kilometers a day. Economy cars, SUVs, and similar often have a limit of around 250 to 300 kilometers per day. Exceeding the mileage limit will result in an additional fee. Additionally, customers receive car insurance, civil liability insurance, and more.

2

What about parking availability?

It is easy to find suitable parking all over Dubai. The city has many open-air, roadside, and underground car parks. Be aware that roadside parking meters must be used when parking in designated streets. The driver is responsible for car parking fees and any associated fines accrued.

3

Do you have any restrictions or policies for off-road driving?

Although some customers request this on account of our range of SUVs, we are unable to authorize off-road driving. Our rental service does not extend to off-roading. However, this is possible by contacting specialist companies in the UAE.

4

Does your service include life and health insurance?

Our cover is comprehensive and includes life and health insurance. This applies to both the main driver and any associated passengers or second drivers. We only use reputable and established insurance agencies for our vehicle insurance.

5

Do you provide a car delivery service?

Delivery be arranged on a case by case basis. In most situations, delivery of a car to a prearranged destination is possible. Most of our partners provide this service. But some may limit delivery to particular nearby locations.

6

At what point will my deposit be refunded?

The deposit will be refunded when the rental agreement has been completed. After the car is handed back in good condition and fully inspected, the deposit will be released. However, it can take up to 28 days for the amount to fully process. This can sometimes be the case in the event of extra costs, such as fines for using tolls.

7

Can you tell me about deposits and why they are necessary?

Customers must make a deposit when renting a car. This is an insurance policy to cover the provider against any damage or costs. Often the deposit is paid by credit card. An amount will be held until the end of the rental agreement. Provided no damage or costs are incurred, the deposit will be fully refunded. Please note: cars with a higher price tag will require a larger deposit than economy vehicles.

8

On what schedule do you charge for the rental?

We charge rental fees on a day-to-day basis, using the 24-hour time format. For instance, a day's car rental agreement from 14.00 hours will finish at 14.00 the following day. It is important for all customers to double-check the return date and time in order to prevent additional fees.

9

What happens if I accidentally make a traffic violation?

If a customer makes a traffic violation, a fine will be issued. It is the responsibility of the driver to pay the fine. The vast majority of roads in Dubai have sophisticated speed cameras. Speed limits are clearly signposted on most thoroughfares. We recommend staying within the speed limit at all times.

With a wide range of vehicles available to rent for all budgets, car rental comes highly recommended.

14

15

Can my friend or family member drive the car I rent?

Yes. Most car rental providers using the Renty platform will offer this service. Often there is an additional charge. However, provided the driver has a valid license and documentation, there is no reason why they cannot enjoy driving the vehicle.

16

What car insurance will I receive as standard?

In the UAE, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) requires all rental cars to have basic insurance. Any vehicle hired through the Renty platform will be insured and ready to drive. In the unlikely event that there is an accident, the police must be contacted, who will then file a report. Basic insurance covers damage to cars by third parties only. It is possible to obtain Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) at extra cost. This enhances the insurance to cover accidental damage by the driver.

17

Can the car rental period be extended? What is the payment procedure?

It depends on the country of origin. UAE residents simply need a valid UAE driving license. In some cases, an Emirates ID or residential visa is necessary. A passport, visa with entry stamp, and a valid home country license is usually all that is required.

Yes. A valid United States license is accepted across Dubai and the UAE. Visitors to the country must produce the license and another form of ID (usually a passport). A valid visa with entry stamp is also necessary.

20

Is there a minimum age for Dubai car rental?

Car rental providers vary in their age requirements. Although it is legal to drive and rent a car in the UAE at 21, some car hire companies insist customers must be 23 years or over. A few providers are more stringent with their policies, requiring ages 25 and above. Having said that, it is still entirely possible to rent great value cars at 21.

21

Is there a mileage limit? Do you charge it I go over the limit?

All the rental cars we list on Renty come with a standard mileage limit. The number of miles allocated usually depends on the length of the rental agreement. But since we aggregate listings from all of the top car rental agencies in Dubai, the mileage limit can vary. A few providers may offer unlimited mileage too. And it is also possible to quote for a bespoke mileage package. In most cases, exceeding the mileage quoted will incur additional costs. Having a good idea of the number of miles needed is a great way to stay in budget.
