2007 FX HO engine problem
Hey. Does anyone out there know if thre are any issues with the 2007 FX HO engine? The ski only has 50 hours and I can't get it to go over 5 MPH. The engine revs but no power. Help?

Have you changed the plugs and air filter?
Also- Do you know about the recall?

No - I do not know about the recall. Please let me know. I have checked the intake, am about to change the plugs and clean the air filter. I was hoping to get feedback so I can narrow the issue. This happened when the ski was low on fuel. It is like it couldn't recover.

Hi Wendie
check your pump too. could be something lodged in there. Does it vibtate alot when you hit the throttle ? The recall is on clamp to the exaust coolong line. take it to the delaer , they will run your vin and take care of it.

OK... well the spark plugs are in good shape - although I am taking the opportunity to replace as preventative mainteannce. And the air filter is really clean.
It does vibrate when I hit the throttle - like i am revving the engine in neutral. So, this recall could be the issue? I'm checking the pump now.

If your getting a vibration that means there is probably something stuck in your prop. The recall has nothing to do with that , That is a different issue all otogether, check your prop area, I am pretty sure that is where your problem may be ,

Hi David
Mine did the same thing once and it was a peice of n driftwood lodged in my impeller. Get underneath the ***** with a coat hanger and flick the thing out gently without doing any damage to the impeller or shaft.

Check the oil level. Make sure it's not overfilled when the engine is warmed up. You can be fooled by the looks of the filter sometimes. Try running without it. Fresh fuel? I've sucked up sticks in mine also. I think Davidw sucked up a beer can once!! LOL Good luck--you got a great machine. A little maintnance goes a long way. Jim :O)

Check your pump. It sounds like you are cavitating and there is a issue in the pump. You most likely have something stuck in the pump and/or have damaged the pump or impeller.

Re: 2007 FX HO engine problem
You guys are great. There was some foreign object stuck up in the impeller... nasty - can't even guess. It is out now - coat hanger did the trick.
Now - just waiting for Memorial weekend!
Thanks again,
Kimberly
